Ingugrek

the stone colossus Ingugrek
Ingugrek was forged by the primordial Piranoth. He was built to serve as primordial siege engine for his forces fighting in the Dawn War. Ingugrek survived many battles to take Weretopia from the angels and the gods. Ingugrek was captured by the god Bal-Kriav and the Golden Seven and entombed in a hill named GirĂ¢n. They used magic to bind him to the earth so that any resistance by him would be met by an equal resistance from the living magical ground around him.

In the Lith-Crillion Era, the hill was investigated by Lith-Crillion relic seekers. They sensed strong magic in the hill and so set to excavating it. When they learned that it was a prison, they feared what might happen if they released the enormous stone giant. Worried that they might have weakened the prison, they built a ziggurat above and around the hill, and then magically fortified the place to the best of their abilities. The ziggurat and settlement that grew around it became known as Crillius-Sarrus.

In 177 LC, a magical experiment went awry in Crillius-Sarrus. This caused the living earth prison around Ingugrek to weaken. The stone colossus shook the city as he tried to break free, bringing down buildings and the ziggurat above him. The top arcanists of the city pooled their magic and created a null field that not only knocked out Ingugrek, but also nullified all magic in the city and over a large swathe of land around it - this area of dead magic came to be known as Balormene. For as long as the dead magic zone remains, Ingugrek will be dormant.

Hellbleaker

Hellbleaker
Hellbleaker if of the Gral Wahliik blood-line, which makes him a descendant of Tiamat. His first grandfather was Balta'khar, a dragon born of Tiamats Clutch. Another notable ancestor of Hellbleaker is Ahnutrix. She was one of the Reds of Kilth that brought down the city-state of Felak and others in the Kilth Deeps War.

In 799, Hellbleaker and his army of fire giants attacked the city-state Orias Vual. The city's population, nearly all firenewts, having grown lazy with riches and opulence were militarily unprepared for the attack. In the past, chests spilling over with gold and gems were enough to keep enemies at baby, but not Hellbleaker. He was bent on taking all of what Varelay had and more. Over a period of fifty years Hellbleaker and his arm of fiery brutes had taken three other city-states - two underground and one on the surface. In addition to taking this great city of the Varelay, they captured a population of firenewts numbering in the tens of thousands. Nearly all of them found themselves in chains and sent off on projects to rebuild what would soon be a new empire.

In 832, Hellbleaker absorbed the vassal state of Orias Vaul and others into the Goth-Dyvermoir empire.

In 1456, the Crusaders of Surtur, an army of fire giants and Sons of Mughakh-Gol, descended upon Orias Vaul. The force was so large that the keys to the city were turned over to the besieging army. Hellbleaker abdicated by fleeing underground. He took most of his huge treasure hoard and an entourage seeking to rebuild the church of Huhueteotl. Many of these acolytes of a dead god were killed by troops of Aebilchunus or others, or became lost in the lava tubes of Sephu'phis.

Hellbleaker has never been seen or heard of after his descent into the Lava Mazes. Some suspect he either went deep in the Underdark or flew along the Earth Seam to some other area of the realm.

Great Betrayal

Loki

In the God Era, Loki became a minor God of Creation. One of his first acts of creation was the tragaran race. He created them in his image with the purpose of being his own personal army to battle the demons invading Bal-Kriav. This invasion came to be known as the Demon Spawn War. In this war, Loki's tragaran army was duped into thinking they were following their master's orders, yet at the time Loki was imprisoned at Barhaz Halarax. The person impersonating Loki, was "The Chameleon", better known in ancient lore as Rilthang. She turned Loki's army against Silvanus troops stationed at Caralda. The surprise attack by a former ally was a total surprise, resulting in the near total annihilation of a 7,000 strong fey army.

This act came to be known as the Great Betrayal. The reasons for choosing this name vary depending on who you are speaking with. The clergy of Loki will tell you that the tragarans betrayed Loki by unquestionably followed the orders of The Chameleon. On the other hand, one tragaran legends says that Loki betrayed them by abandoning them in the wilds of Gurutharni.

Another ancient legend says that Loki would redeem them for the Great Betrayal, but only if they defeated the demons of Varelay. The Varelay Upheaval made this goal impossible, since they had to choose between joining the ranks of Blibdoolpoolp or making it with nothing but what was on their backs in a land wracked with exploding volcanoes, changing water-levels, and demons running amok in their own civil war. Many pledged themselves to Blibdoolpoolp, and descended with their cities into the deeps of Dhark Bolg. The name Loki was forgotten by those that went into the darkness, pledging themselves to Blibdoolpoolp, they were slowly transformed into kuo-toans. Those that remained on the surface, remained tragarans.
